URGENT: The Heartbreak Our $500 Cap Can't Fix
The human-animal bond is a lifeline for our veterans, our neighbors facing homelessness, and the "at-risk" families of Hillsborough County. At Community Pet Project, we ensure this bond remains intact by providing food and, most critically, lifesaving medical care.
But our emergency fund is running low.
Our current maximum assistance is $500 per pet—a sum that is often the difference between a pet getting treated or being surrendered. That $500 can cover routine care, a critical infection, or emergency diagnostics. But we can't do it for the next one without your help. Our volunteers have stopped all in-person events as of January 1, 2026 to focus every minute and every dollar on the highest-impact need: medical care.
This is not an event invite. This is an immediate, direct appeal.
We are asking our community to help us fill the Vet Fund. Every dollar you give goes directly to paying a vet bill for a pet whose owner is choosing between their own survival and their beloved companion's health.
How Your Immediate Gift Helps:
• $25: Covers the cost of critical pain medication for a recovering pet.
• $100: Funds all essential vaccinations to keep a service animal healthy for a year.
• $500: Saves a pet's life by funding our maximum annual cap for a complex injury or illness.
