When Community Pet Project was founded in 2017, its initial goal was to assist the pets of homeless and at-risk Hillsborough County residents by providing basic items up to and including food, treats, collars, leashes, and toys. Thanks to the generosity of donors and hard work of our volunteers, we have since expanded our services to include emergency medical aid, spaying and neutering referrals and funding, fostering, and grief care.

Veterinary Financial AssistanceNobody should have to choose between buying groceries or paying their utilities and getting their family members the help that they need. Unfortunately, many Hillsborough County residents are forced to make choices like these every day.
As long as funding exists, we are here to help cover the costs of veterinary care for the pets of those who aren't able to afford full payment on their own. Do you need assistance with your pet's exam, surgery, or humane euthanasia? We want to help. Please reach out to us by filling out a contact form or emailing [email protected]. Veterinarians and veterinary clinics interested in partnering with us are encouraged to reach out. |
JUST SAY NO!Too many puppies and kittens are thrown out on highways, dumped on vacant properties, and left in boxes outside of stores. As such, we’ve started our JUST SAY NO! program, which is meant to help Hillsborough County residents cover the cost of spaying and neutering their pets before unwanted litters are born. If you qualify for the county voucher, we will help you fill out the application and cover the copay. If you don’t qualify, we will cover the cost of spaying/neutering for up to three adult pets per home; if you have more than three pets, females will be prioritized.
